Purpose and boundaries
Every domain is a team at chat.<domain>, branded from Brand Kits, and chats.appneural.com shows every team a person belongs to. Public and private channels, direct and group messages, threads, reactions, @mentions and @channel, unread counts, Activity, search, typing and presence arrive live over hibernatable WebSockets on a TeamHub Durable Object per team. Files up to 25 MB go to R2, and only safe media opens inline. Audio and video calls with screen share are a peer-to-peer mesh of up to 8 people over Cloudflare STUN, with an optional Cloudflare TURN relay. Missed @mentions, DMs and thread replies are emailed as one grouped alert. Claude writes "Catch me up" summaries with decisions, action items and what needs you, and drafts replies. Owners invite people by email, and members sign in with email and password.
